What is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a Western medicine technique that targets myofascial trigger points — tight knots in muscles that cause local and referred pain. Dr. Anamika received her certification at a workshop organized by Dr. Upendra Goswami at Punjab University, Chandigarh.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice that targets specific meridian points to balance the flow of energy (qi) through the body.

Key Differences

While both use fine needles, dry needling is guided by Western anatomical knowledge of muscle anatomy and trigger points, while acupuncture follows traditional meridian maps. Both can be effective for pain management.

When is Dry Needling Most Helpful?

Chronic neck pain, back pain, headaches, sports injuries, and myofascial pain syndrome respond particularly well to dry needling.
